Family Fun

On your doorstep you have woodland walks and great cycle rides; within a ten minute drive or less you have golf, horse riding, tennis, canoeing, kayaking, river trips on the Dordogne, the Chateau at Duras and further afield you have all the great vineyards of Aquitaine. The area is well known for its Bastides - or medieval fortresses - and during the summer the re-enactments and medieval feasts are most entertaining. Issigeac is such a village, beautifully preserved and well worth a visit.

Canoeing and Kayaking

A favourite activity of ours is canoeing and kayaking and there are numerous places nearby. 5 minutes aways at St Foy La Grande there is a base where you can hire canoes and kayak as well as stand up paddle boards. 

 Further up the river there are more adventurous sites for white white water rafting

Lake-side beaches

We have a number of river and lake beaches which are well supervised, as well as numerous spots for wild swimming. 20 minutes west there is the Lac de La Cadie, near Castillon, a good spot for waterskiing, jet skiing, wake boarding and more. Seriously good fun!

Horse Riding 

10 minutes away at Les Leves et Thoumeyragues there is a great riding school, le Poney Club de St Foy La Grande. You can have riding lessons, or go for a great hack across the vineyards or combine wine tasting at a local chateau with your horse tour! Great fun for all!

Go karting

20 minutes up the road, near Bergerac there is a great Go-Karting track that people of all ages appear to enjoy. For rainy days there is also ten-pin bowling and Laser Quest!
